We are looking for a General Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of a world-class laboratory focused on cutting edge technology. The ideal candidate for this position has a minimum of two years of supervisory experience, has managed newly established labs, and meets the CLIA and state of California requirements for supervising a high complexity laboratory. He or she will supervise the day-to-day work of all CLIA certified lab testing and personnel, ensuring that the laboratory meets state and federal guidelines and achieves excellence in quality at every level.

• Oversee specimen examination, test analyses, and reporting of results, ensuring consistent excellence in performance.
• Supervise laboratory staff, including laboratory technicians and clinical assistants.
• Work with Technical Supervisor to ensure that all remedial actions are taken whenever test systems deviate from the laboratory’s established performance specifications.
• Manage successful introduction of new tests to laboratory.
• Ensure that patient test results are not reported until all corrective actions have been taken and test system is functioning correctly.
• Oversee customer satisfaction and implement procedures for resolving complaints.
• Working closely with Technical Supervisor and Lab Director, develop laboratory budget and run laboratory in fiscally responsible manner.
• Work with Technical Supervisor to evaluate, document and ensure competency of all testing personnel consistent with state and federal guidelines.
• Understand and implement OSHA and CLIA requirements.

• Meet the standards for General Supervisor of a high complexity CLIA laboratory in California:
  •  Hold a current Clinical Laboratory Scientist license issued by the State of California.
  •  At least two years of experience in high complexity testing.
• Experience working in a high complexity laboratory performing a broad array of assays.
• Experience managing clinical laboratory personnel with proven track record of exceeding quality expectations.
• Experience managing new laboratories, or sections of laboratories, is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge and experience with public health laboratory laws and regulations.
• Proven ability to help scale clinical laboratories in a dynamic environment while maintaining excellence in performance at every level.
