Senior Chemistry Buyer

Responsibilities
- Negotiates prices, terms, and conditions with existing accounts and new suppliers with the objectives to minimize cost and maintain highest quality at all times.
- Obtains and compares quotes from different suppliers to select the ones that provide the best value (quality and price) to the Company.
- Maintains a master MRP schedule to support production and development.
- Monitors delivery schedule for all open orders to match production and development needs.
- Evaluates vendor reliability and performance, including on-time delivery performance, receiving problems, and rejected material.
- Inputs data and files documents in a timely manner.
- Resolves discrepancies between POs, receiving, and invoices.

Has experience in regulatory compliance policy and procedures in terms of procurement
functions (QSR, FDA, etc.).
- Organizes data, and generates reports for management reviews
Requirements
- 5+ years as a buyer/planner in both R&D and manufacturing environments for life science and/or biotech companies.
- BS degree in science or a related field.
- Experience in chemistry, reagents and antibodies etc.
- At least 5 years of experience in contracts review and negotiating with suppliers
- MRP system knowledge & experience (experience with MRP system implementation is a plus).
- Thorough understanding of the entire process from procurement to payment.
- Experience in working with plant manufacturing processes, material & production control, and material specifications.
- Hands-on with the ability to work individually and as a team.
