The person in this position will become part of the R&D team responsible for the development of the next generation technology at the company. In particular this candidate will be responsible for developing new bio-assays. It is critical that this individual has excellent command of scientific fundamentals and is able to translate that into their laboratory work. Ideally, the person will be very goal-oriented, have familiarity with laboratory instrumentation, and instrument control paradigm. Even more importantly, he/she must be comfortable using the skills and knowledge to problem-solve outside of their comfort-zone and learn on-the-fly if necessary.

The ideal candidate will have a Masters with 5+ years of industrial experience or Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, with excellent knowledge of PCR based techniques, DNA/RNA isolation and purification, primer design, genomic database mining, hands-on attitude and an innovative approach to problem solving. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in interdisciplinary teams are essential. Bio-assay development and QC experience is highly desirable. Experience with automation, protein expression, and purification, is a plus. Excellent written and oral communication skills will complete the profile.
